Our response to CQC's survey on people's experiences of urgent and emergency services

45,000 people who received urgent and emergency services shared their views on their care with CQC. Find out what the results said.

The CQC has today published the results of a CQC’s survey of people who received urgent and emergency services. The survey of 45,000 people who received urgent and emergency services provided by 137 NHS trusts across England show positive results for many areas of treatment. However, the survey also highlighted areas that could be improved including getting access to the right information.

Imelda Redmond, National Director of Healthwatch England, said:

“Despite the pressures on A&E departments it’s good to hear people are getting the right care when they need it most. However, it is concerning that people feel they aren’t getting the right information and nearly half surveyed said that their home situation was not taken into account before they were discharged. These findings echo our recent report on hospital discharge and must be addressed to ensure everyone gets home safely from hospital.”
