We recently wrote to the Secretary of State for Health, the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, outlining our concerns that proposed changes to the law that could stop people from having a say about major changes to the health services in their area.
Following this correspondence, we wrote to the Local Government Association about the need for us both to ensure that:
CCGs acting under the proposed joint arrangements meaningfully engage local Health and Wellbeing Boards in decision making,
CCGs take account of locally developed plans (such as the Joint Strategic Needs Assessments and Health and Wellbeing Plans);
CCGs are held to account in the locality that is affected by proposed changes.
