Summary of report content

Healthwatch Brent conducted an announced Enter and View visit to Avonhurst House in October 2018. Avonhurst House is a general sheltered housing scheme in Brondesbury that supports older people to maintain their independence and encourage living as a community.

The report stated that the care planning process was efficient and caring. Some residents act as volunteers and help others when needed. There was excellent communication between staff and residents. The residents are close to various services, being located near local shops and transport services. They enjoy engaging in a variety of activities such as dominos, exercise, going out as a group. Regular monthly meetings take place, where residents are able to exchange their views with other residents and the Manager, providing an opportunity to tackle any problems or issues.

No recommendations were made to the home due to the positive findings.
