Summary of report content
This project was ‘contracted out’ by Healthwatch Tower Hamlets to a local sports club who worked with 30 children that regularly attend a football academy. The process included asking specific questions of the young people whilst carrying out physical activities, a focus group and a parent survey. The aims of this research are stated as: a) To explore the existing baseline knowledge that 5-11 year old children have about healthy eating and living? e.g. knowledge acquired from schools, etc. b) To explore children’s eating habit after school and up to bedtime c) To explore the type and amount of food children eat after school and up to bedtime d) To explore the reasons for eating chicken and chips after school or after training/matches e) To explore parents attitudes to healthy eating and their reasons for offering chicken and chips after school or after training/matches to their children. Whilst valuable and important the information gained by this piece of work and the recommendations put forward there is no evidence of what happened next or any impact.Would you like to look at:
