COVID Feedback from Kent & Medway April 2020

Summary of report content

Healthwatch Kent and Healthwatch Medway have gathered direct feedback from 180 members of the public about their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic and life under social distancing.

The reports found that the majority of people experienced loneliness. Over April, Healthwatch heard less about difficulties accessing food. Although, there is still some confusion about shielding letters, the original concern was about receipt of the letters and this has moved to understanding the changes in social distancing and restrictions. Financial concerns were a common concern raised particularly relating to the longer term impact of debt planning and a reduction in income. There are reports of local variances in funeral guidance.

Healthwatch Kent and Healthwatch Medway will discuss early indications that some groups of people are experiencing a disproportionate impact on their wellbeing with Kent County Council and Medway Council and NHS recovery cells
