Summary of report content
Healthwatch Sunderland undertook an enter and view visit to Bryony Lodge Nursing Home on 25 September 2019. They spoke to 19 people in total (6 residents, 10 staff and 3 friends and relatives. They found that residents, staff, family and friends and managers felt:
- The home had a strong visible management
- Staff had both the skills and the time to do their jobs
- The staff had a good knowledge of each resident and their changing needs
- The home had a varied programme of activities
- There was choice and flexibility around food and mealtimes, and the food was of a good quality
- Residents had regular access to health professionals
- The home accommodated residents’ personal, cultural and lifestyle needs
- The home provided an open environment where feedback is actively sought and used
- The home provided a physical environment which is suitable for the needs of the residents
