The Government’s National Information Board aims to make sure that data and technology work safely for patients, service users, and professionals.

The board’s vision for patients, carers and service users sets out what the work overseen by the board aims to deliver by 2020 .

It describes ways in which people’s experiences of health and social care services will be improved by the better use of digital technology and provides a way for professionals and the public to judge progress towards this goal.

The vision was developed with the help of Healthwatch England and a range of other national health and social care organisations.
