Summary of report content
Healthwatch Haringey conducted a survey with 17 care homes to find out what their experiences have been during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report found that one third of care homes had positive covid-19 cases. Significant staffing issues were experienced during the pandemic but this is less of a problem now. There were difficulties accessing tests and equipment to keep staff safe. Residents being discharged from hospital were often not tested and were left with little support. There were mixed experiences of the support provided by GPs, and some care homes experienced problems with hospitals. 40% of care homes managers were not sure
whether their care home would be financially viable beyond the next 12 months.
No recommendations were made in this report.
