An exploration of parents/carers and young people’s experiences of going through transition from children to adult services in BexleyDownload (PDF 623KB)
Summary of report contentThis report was written by Healthwatch Bexley following a review of local and national findings about young people’s transition from child to adult mental health services. The report was published August, 2016 and is based on focus groups, interviews and questionnaires. A total of 45 responses were gathered. Overall sentiment was mixed. People were concerned about a lack of support post 18 and how young people were not well advised during the transition. The nature and attitude of services changed too much for young people after they turned 18. A set of recommendations is included in the report. No response from related providers is attached.
