Summary of report content

Healthwatch Brent conducted an announced Enter and View visit to Rosemary House in February 2019. Rosemary House is an extra care housing schemes in Brent. It offers a new way of supporting older people to maintain their independence and is an alternative to residential care for many people.

The report found that the assessment and care planning process is appropriate. All staff have had the mandatory training. Some residents feel that staff are delayed in responding to them as they are busy with other tenants. The residents appreciated privacy, independence, participating in decision, being in a safe & secure environment, and being able to maintain links with family and friends. Residents were aware of how to complain.

Healthwatch Brent recommended that London Care should review the training needs of the staff and review the complaints system to ensure it is responsive.

London Care responded well to these recommendations and outlined where they have been addressed.
