Summary of report content

Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire gather information on people’s experiences of health and social care services and there are times when it is appropriate for Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire to see and hear for themselves how services are being delivered: these visits are called ‘Enter and View’, they are not inspections. Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire visited Hunters Lodge Residential Care Home on Wednesday 29 August 2018. The key findings highlighted areas in relation to patient feedback, staff feedback and observation. The recommendations in the report state carry out a fire safety review. Carry out a review of activities and how they are planned, this could include activities encouraging family or carer involvement. Undertake a review of staff training and that qualifications or certificates be displayed within the building and on their website. Update the complaints procedure, with current contact information and be made available in the home and on their website. Ensure notices, signs and information regarding the home’s inspections are kept up to date.
