Summary of report content

Healthwatch Oxfordshire conducted and Enter and View visit to The Elms Day Hospital in November 2019. The Day Hospital provides community adult mental health services. Three patients and two staff members were spoken to, to collect their feedback.

The report found that service users valued the service highly and gave positive feedback. Physical care needs were also met at the Day Hospital. The staff were respectful and kind. However, the temperature was too hot and the IT software was not up-to-date which impacted on staff productivity.

The recommendations included that staff photo board be introduced; investment be made into IT infrastructure; keep the feedback board up-to-date; and to make available the eligibility criteria for patient transport.

The service provider responded positively to the report.
