Summary of report content

Healthwatch Bucks conducted an Enter and View visit in September 2019 to the Carey Lodge residential care home. They spoke to 13 residents, visitors and staff.

It was observed that staff were attentive and treated residents with respect and regard for their personal needs. The home promoted personalised care, such as choice of food, drinks and activities. Residents were encouraged to remain as independent as possible. There were a range of activities offered to residents on a daily basis.

Healthwatch Bucks made a number of recommendations including that the menus use pictures, and revise symbols used to illustrate activities as this may have an impact on those living with dementia.

The service provider has responded to the report positively and outlined way in which they will improve.
