Summary of report content
Healthwatch Bucks conducted an unannounced Enter and View visit, as part of a planned set of visits looking at the care provided, specifically around how the homes are able to support residents with additional needs. Healthwatch Bucks visited 87 Wendover Rd, on 17/08/2018. 87 Wendover Road currently provides residential care for 4 ladies who live with a learning disability. Two staff and two residents were in the home when we visited. The home was in the middle of a kitchen / diner refit so communal space was more restricted than normal. No menus and only a hand written daily activity board. The summary of findings included: A calm, relaxed home with many long-term staff and residents and they were seen to communicate well with each other using speech, Makaton and body language; Activities and every-day life seem to reflect the individual’s wishes and personalities.
