Local Healthwatch needs to be independent and accessible to all sections of the community, seen by the public as part of the community they live in, able to reflect the experiences that they have shared about health and social care services.

To maintain this independence requires local Healthwatch to behave in a particular way that enables them to listen to the voice of their communities carefully
and impartially.
