Healthwatch England Chair's first term extended
Healthwatch England is delighted to announce that Anna Bradley’s first term as Chair of Healthwatch England has been extended to 31 March 2016.
The chair is a Secretary of State appointment and the post-holder is also a member of the CQC board; both terms have been extended from 16 July 2015.
Anna Bradley said of the news:
"Our NHS and social care services are experiencing change like never before with some big decisions ahead about how services will be delivered at both a local and national level. To ensure these decisions reflect the needs of our communities, it is vital that patients, care users and the public as a whole are put at the heart of the discussions.
"It is great that the Secretary of State is pleased with the progress Healthwatch is making in amplifying the voice of consumers. Extending my term as Chair is a vote of confidence in the efforts of everyone contributing to the Healthwatch network.
"It has been a real pleasure to lead the development of the network from its inception and I am delighted that I will be able to provide much needed stability as we focus on ensuring the views of consumers shape the way our hospitals, care homes and community services are designed, both for now and for future generations."
