Help shape the way we work
We need your views and ideas to make sure that health and social care services work better for everyone. Share your views and help shape our future strategy.
At a time of unprecedented pressure, it has never been more important for health and social care services to find out what people need, in order to provide better, more targeted care.
The public recognise the challenges that services face. They want to help by taking more control of their own health and care and becoming equal partners in decisions that affect them.
Over the summer we asked people to share their thoughts on how we can do more to help make health and social care work better for everyone. We also asked people what our biggest challenges and opportunities will be in the future. Thanks to the views we received, we have created three aims which we want to achieve over the next five years, but we need your help to achieve them.
Our future aims
1. Empowering you and your community to have your say
We want to make sure people can access the information they need to take control of their health and care, make informed decisions and shape the services that support them.
2. Providing a high quality Healthwatch service for you
We want to support a consistently high quality Healthwatch service for people who want to share their views or find information about health and social care. We also want to help local Healthwatch to champion people’s views effectively and make sure that local health and social care services truly reflect people’s needs.
3. Making sure your views help improve health and social care
We want people’s views to drive health and social care - ensuring you get access, on an equal basis with others, to support that works for you, as well as helping to shape future services for your community.
Have your say
Today, we launch the next phase of our consultation. We want to hear your views on how we can make an even bigger difference in the years to come. Share your thoughts on what activities we should focus on to help achieve our aims, and what success would look like.
