The Department of Health has today started advertising for a new chair to lead Healthwatch England through the changing landscape of health and social care.

Since being made aware of the Government's intentions, Anna has been working closely with the Department and Care Quality Commission to help secure a smooth transition.

As of Friday this week Anna will be stepping down and Jane Mordue, Vice Chair, will take over as Interim Chair.

Acting Chair of Healthwatch England, Jane Mordue, said:

"Having built Healthwatch England from scratch, and supported the successful development of the Healthwatch network as a whole, Anna has helped turn the Government's vision for a credible and well recognised champion for consumers of health and social care into a reality.

"On behalf of the Healthwatch England Committee, and the rest of the Healthwatch network, I would like to say a huge thank you to Anna for both her strategic vision and hard work over the last three and a half years which have created a strong voice for people and patients in how health and care services are delivered.

"As acting Chair I will be working closely with the Department of Health and the Care Quality Commission to ensure a smooth transition and ensure that Healthwatch goes from strength to strength in using people's experiences to drive improvement right across the health and social care sector."
